Welcome to Theme Song Saturdays, a new weekly meme, hosted by yours truly, in which we share our love of music and books! Since I love books and music, this meme is for fun to try to incorporate those two loves! Whenever I read a book, a certain song -- kind of like a soundtrack or theme song -- plays through my head.
Want to know how to play? Head over to this post to read the rules and get the code.
For possible adult situations in this week's book:
I'm having a hard time with this one. On Tuesday, I found out that I was accepted for the position of an emergency dispatcher, so my mind has not really been on reading and figuring out songs!! But I am super EXCITED!! Anyways . . . I have two song choices:
Every Breath You Take by the Police and S.O.S. by Apocalyptica (feat. Cristina Scabbia) are my picks for Comfort Food. The pseudo-tender nature of the Police song lends well to the relationship between Emily and Master. Further, it impresses the point that she fully and wholly belongs to him. And the apparent time he spent watching her and her movements. For me, Apocalyptica really digs into the emotions I feel from Emily. At the end, however, things change a bit, but it still hits the mark.
Even though I didn't post the video, Hit The Floor by Bullet for My Valentine makes me think of the violent nature presented in the story.
What are your choices this week? Leave a link to your post in the comments. Can't wait to see what you guys have ^_^
