Here's this week's question:
Q: What would you do over if you were to start your blog again from scratch?
A:
I would probably try to reach out to publishers a lot sooner than I did. Just starting out, I was afraid to approach any of them about reviewing books. Aside from that, I am fairly happy with out things started.**note: GFC and Linky are located in the footer columns ^_^
Great Answer! I've only just started reaching out to publishers :) New GFC Follower!

Thanks for stopping by! This is a gorgeous blog you have, I'll be sure to follow as soon as I'm done with this comment <3
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I'm kind of terrified of reaching out to publishers as well. But it's good to hear that I should do it sooner! I don't want to regret it in time to come :)
Honestly, the worst they can do is not answer. It took me awhile to build up my confidence; however, it was worth it when I finally did hear back. Don't give up!
DeleteThanks ^_^ Chic & Sassy Designs did an awesome job with the blog design!
New follower from the hop. If I could start from scratch I would choose a different layout and design. I'll be changing things up soon though. You have a super cute blog!
ReplyDeletePlease follow back at http://nettesbookshelf.blogspot.com :-)
That's a good answer. I think I might still be too new to blogging to reach out to publishers, but that doesn't stop me from using NG.
ReplyDeleteNew GFC and Linky (I think) follower.
My FF
New follower! I still haven't reached out to publishers I scared of rejection, So I only use Netgalley
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog :D
P.S you have one of the best blog layouts I'v seen.Like it's AMAZING!!!
From my experience, you don't hear back from them if you're rejected. That kind of makes it easier ^_~
DeleteThanks, sweetie! Chic & Sassy Designs did an awesome job! She modeled the girl at the top after me (yes, I do have pink hair ^_~) and used my actual tattoos! Check her out, she is pretty cool!
Good answer! I remember thinking in the beginning, how are all these bloggers getting to read these novels before they're released? *Blushes* Yeesh!
ReplyDeleteOld follower here, Yay!
Stopping by with My FF!
Great answer. They say you should wait about 6 months to a year to start contacting top teir publishers.
ReplyDeleteOld follower. Thanks for stopping by.
Great answer! How long did it take you till you reached out to them? I want to do that someday, but I'm still really new to blogger!(:
ReplyDeleteNew Follower!
My blog: simple-books.blogspot.com
I decided to wait until I hit about the 6mo mark, and then fully chickened out! Honestly, I didn't start reaching out to them until March, which was after my one year blog anniversary. I would suggest waiting until about 6mo to kind of make a name for yourself, get followers, etc. Also, it is good to know your blog stats, so keep that in mind. But, when you do reach out, good luck!
DeleteI need to do that too. It's not that I'm afraid, I just never get around to actually asking publishers. It's kind of ridiculous, I know.
ReplyDeleteMy FF
Great answer! It can be scary at first approaching publishers and you feel too under-qualified and inexperienced. There's a lot to be said for enthusiasm though ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. I'd love it if you returned the favour.
