Follow My Book Blog Friday is hosted by Rachel at Parajunkee's View. The point is to follow as many book blog as you can and make new friends! As part of the adventure, she gives a weekly question. Here is this week's question:
Inspired by the inane twitter trend of #100factsaboutme, give us five BOOK RELATED silly facts about you.
- My favorite reading escape is in a hot bathtub followed by my cozy bed. I cannot sleep without spending at least 15min in the pages of my current book.
- I will NEVER become a Kindle/Nook reader. Something about cracking the spine of a book for the first time and smelling that new-book smell has powerful sway over me.
- Even though I have a degree in English, I would rather read a novel than spend time pouring over tomes like Paradise Lost.
- Currently, my TBR pile is taking up several shelves on my bookcase and scattered throughout the house. However, even with this large number, I keep acquiring more books. My husband losing his job at the end of January has curbed my book buying; however, I have 5 books on hold at the library and my reading-crazy bro keeps bringing me piles of new books to read ^______^
- Quality time with my hubby is spent with both of us nose-deep in a book. We also like to read to each other.
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Crazy For Books. It is another cool way for readers and bloggers to connect. It is help Friday-Monday. Here is her weekly question:
"If you could physically put yourself into a book or series…which one would it be and why?"
- Man, that's hard to answer! Missing technology aside, I would like to by in Mercedes Lackey's world of Valdemar. Being a herald/herald-mage and having a Companion would be awesome! I love the rich scenery, the characters, etc. Plus, I admit, I still kind of hold out for Van becoming straight *innocent smile*
- If we place it in modern day, I would go for Kim Harrison's Rachel novels. If you read them, you will understand the "why" ^_~
Apologies in advance for my answer this week as it will not immediately resonate with the book blogger population which happens to be 99.5% female.
ReplyDeleteMy choice is a book series geared towards guys which won’t enthrall the vast majority of my fellow book bloggers (who are almost entirely female) with the extensive discussion of powerful weapons and sexy milspec gear, beautiful women, eye-popping action sequences (with occasionally obscene violence), and the like.
But there IS something in my answer that just about everyone of the female persuasion can benefit from my decidedly “books for guys” post. Hop on over to http://www.howardsherman.net to find out what it is.
Happy Hop Friday!

I love that you and your husband read to each other. Whenever I find a funny part in a book I always read it out loud to whomever is near me.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I used to feel the same way about the ereader until I realized that my library was getting a lot of ebooks that I wanted to borrow! I am a library junkie so I now get both bound books and ebooks from them. I am following you back!

ReplyDeleteOoo love your Kim Harrison answer! I absolutely adore the Hollows series! I wouldn't mind hanging out with Trent!!
I'm a new follower now! I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts on Black Magic Sanction!
Check Out My Blog Hop!
I'm happy to have stopped by your blog. Interesting that you enjoy piercings and tattoos.
ReplyDeleteHere's my blog post for this hop. Hope you will stop by.
I'm a new follower!
Heh, I wouldn't mind having a Nook, I mean for when I'm on the go and stuff like that. Like having to accompany my gran to the doctor visits and taking trips. I'm sure it might be easier then, other than that I'm like you I'd prefer a physical copy of the book that I'm reading.
ReplyDeleteAnd after having to quit my job for some extenuating circumstances, my book buying days have been curbed as well. lol. I've always got an armload of library books and I've been fortunate to find some in the thrifty shops and in garage sales too.
Oh, and hi new follower. Love you blog, it's so pretty! :)
I'm stopping by and I love your blog! I'm a new follower now. I broke down and got my Kindle two days ago. I admit I love it but I know I'll never stop with the true books. I agree, it's something about cracking them open that just sends a thrill of excitement down my spine!
ReplyDeleteI also love to read in a hot bath and then climb into bed. It's the best! Have a great weekend.

Hopping through. New follower! I know what you mean about the wonder of a real book, but I like the convenience of an e-reader. I think I'll always do both.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower. I've returned the favor. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish my husband liked to read fiction. He's only interested in non-fiction, especially textbooks. So, we definitely don't read to each other, lol. :)
I do also need to read before I sleep, sometimes I read with a flashlight, so I do not disturb my boyfriend. And I have manye, many shelves with unread books - I do not dare to count them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the follow! I hopped on over and I am now a follower!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous blog Sinn! Is this same Sinn that won my giveaway because I feel like I haven't been to your blog in a while :) Anyway, I'm following now!
ReplyDeletexo,
Lah @ LazyGirl Reads
LOL. Well first of all, it was supposed to say "is this the same Sinn..." There is another person with the nickname Sinn out here in the blogosphere that I lost contact with. So I was wondering if you were her. I see now that you aren't lol!
ReplyDeleteCute blog! Thanks for stopping by mine. I thought I was someone who would never get a Nook or a Kindle too. But I like using for cheaper books and NetGalley. And maybe a book that's like a gazillon pages since I have little room as is. LOL But I with you on cracking the spine of a book. Nothing like it! I'm a new follower :)
